Pett's Cocker Spaniels

"When a kennel has consistantly produced championship caliber cocker spaniels over a span of nearly 60 years, it is justified to say that the kennel has established a dynasty. Such is the case with Pett's Cockers, a small show kennel in Dennisport, Massachusetts founded in 1948 by Dorothy and Roland Pett and their niece Annie Eaton Noble, currently operated by Lee and Nancy Perron.

"Our foundation girls had beautiful dark eyes with lovely chiseling beneath the eyes and the soft sweet expression. We also feel a bitch for breeding should be a much better than average bitch with no glaring faults. We've always been head conscious and have only kept dogs with good heads and true cocker type. We, of course, do not forget temperment and dispositions, for without these qualities they are nothing regardless of any physical beauty they might possess. Naturally, we feel they must be sound and have good running gear. We are always thrilled to hear or to learn that any of our lines have produced for others and hope that in their way they'll continue to contribute to the betterment of our beloved breed." Any kennel that has enjoyed such long-standing success had to have a sound beginning. When Dorothy Pett decided to raise show cockers, she was adamant that she obtain well-bred bitches. It is these bitches that have led to the success of the line." Frank Etter, Jr
